ESTRO Particle Therapy Course in Groningen
21 November 2018
From 18 to 22 of March 2019, Groningen welcomes radiation-oncologists, medical physicists and other healthcare professionals with an interest in proton therapy or other forms of radiotherapy using particles for irradiation.
Experts from the field will teach the attendees the most recent medical, physics and biological insights of particle therapy. The course will also discuss the roadmap for new particle therapy projects – from project planning to the start of clinical operations.
The Department of Radiation Oncology of the UMCG is co-organizer of this ESTRO course (European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology). A tour of the Groningen Proton Therapy Center therefore is an indispensable part of the course program. In January 2018, this proton therapy center was the first in the Netherlands to start patient treatments.
